Het CDA wilde niet samenwerken met socialisten. Dat er met de stem van de vele SP-kiezers rekening moest worden gehouden, was niet aan de orde, terwijl dat vier jaar later wel als argument gold om met de PVV te onderhandelen toen die van 9 naar 24 zetels ging.»
