Until today I have been able to ignore all World Cup 2010™ football matches in South-Africa™, because I just don’t really care about footbal™. Maybe it stays like that, maybe it doesn’t: that depends on the weather, the results and/or my mood.
But I just have to write about today’s story! It’s too funny…
The FIFA© has announced they’re going to sue the Dutch beer-company Bavaria™ for ‘ambush marketing‘.
The story – in short – is that the brewery has paid several Dutch and South-African girls to wear Bavaria’s World-cup-gadget called the ‘dutch dress’: a flimsy dress, that can be worn in several ways (as Bavaria explains on their website) in the National Dutch color orange. Apparently the beercompany got the tickets from a British reporter, who got the tickets for his friends and family, but sold them instead. Wow, will his freinds be pissed… the tickets were in the front row. The girls had Danish supporters-wear, but when they were in they dropped those and showed-off themselves in their Dutch Dresses. Of course these dresses have the Bavaria-logo on it (on the back), but what’s the problem about that? So does Abercrombie & Fitch™ et al.
Here’s the video:
Of course it was an ambush advertisement! But the FIFA is too boring to know that Bavaria has always made the weirdest and funniest advertisement-pranks:
(translations available on request and after buying me a couple of beers…)
And to proove the Dutch have a sense of humor: the dresses are also available in the French, Italan, Brazil and English national colors…just not the German…ROFL
…en tenslotte: Fokke en Sukke:
