See! I’m not the only addict! There’s nothing you can do but to just love those Japanese Bento boxes!!

Actually I didn’t spend the whole day in my kitchen: it was more something of 1-2 hours. But this time all worked out great! So my head (and the rest of moi) is at the moment full of endorphines (except those places, where the food is). This afternoon I raided the Asian Supermarket in the Kantstraße again – it’s getting a once-a-month shopping-trip. The supermarket is a bit far away from my place, but they’re just superb equipped with all things related with Asian cooking: not only Japanese, but Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, etc. Loads of fresh stuff, but also dried things, fastfood, etc. And of course: most of them were imported by several Dutch companies. Like the days of the V.O.C. never really ended. Well,at least these times they pay for the goods.
Sooo…. first, a question for you: have you ever had something so good, no, so delicious to eat, that you had to pause eating to shout and yell “oooh” and “aaah” the whole time? Well, I do. Maybe that is because I’m a Taurus (♉) and (as I understand) for those, good food is extremely important; more important than many, many other things (like money, a big car or sex…well, sometimes it is). For me it is anyway. For an extremely good meal you can wake me anytime of day or night, but better be prepared for extreme criticism from me…either positive or negative.
Well, enough babbled. Today I made my second bento-meal and my first real bento-box!
Ha, I did it: this afternoon I made my first bento-box ever! Yesterday I went shopping in one of the largest Asian supermarkets in Berlin (by my knowledge), which is in Charlottenburg. Although they mostly have Chinese items, there’s a big selection of Japanese groceries too. Just no fresh fish, but that’s a concern for later. And today I received one of my new books, called “Bento boxes” by Naomi Kijima (no, I didn’t buy it on Amazon).
